5.4 Communication With the Agent
If the network management station is communicating with the agent, complete
management functionality is available. The current Agent View of the device
appears, and all dialog boxes contain updated information. The title bar of the
Agent View displays the agent name followed by ‘Connected’.
If there is no communication with the agent, the Agent View that appeared the last
time that you closed RADview-HPOV appears. All the dialog boxes are empty and
only the Close and Cancel buttons are available.
If there was no previous communication with the device, the default configuration
is:

When communication with the agent resumes, complete management
functionality is available. The current Agent View of the device appears, and all
dialog boxes contain updated information. The title bar of the Agent View displays
the agent name followed by ‘Connected’.
5.5 Traps Monitoring
RADview-HPOV polls the agent every 60 seconds to monitor the performance of
the agent. The agent sends traps (for example, alarms and events) to the Network
Management Station.
A trap is sent (if enabled) when a problem starts or ends. Each trap can be
independently masked/enabled per manager. The Alarm trap is regarded as a
group of traps that can be enabled or disabled per manager as a whole.
